Two kinds of planned support
Specific questions
Family navigation
Short-term help with questions such as what to focus on in fifth grade, what to ask at a school meeting, or how to begin learning about college.
Defined relationship
Ongoing family mentoring
A family education goal, agreed next steps, progress check-ins, and an adjusted plan—within a defined participation period and with staff oversight.
What a family plan could look like
Our goalHelp our child feel prepared for middle school.
Our next stepCreate an assignment-checking routine and identify a school contact.
Our conversationPractice asking for help when an assignment is confusing.
Our follow-upReview which parts of the routine worked.
Every family belongs here
No family needs prior college knowledge to participate. The program is being designed to welcome first-generation college families, caregivers who did not attend college, grandparents, foster and kinship caregivers, and families of students with disabilities or diverse learning needs.
Clear boundaries
EFF K–12 provides educational guidance and resource navigation.
It is not therapy, legal representation, guaranteed admission, or promised financial assistance.
We are beginning with parent/caregiver guidance and supervised group programming—not instant one-to-one matching between adults and minors.
